When arranging household appliances, one should not neglect the recommendations and requirements set out in the instructions. Most manufacturers do not recommend placing the oven next to the dishwasher. We will find out why their neighborhood is considered harmful and how to put this household appliance so that it does not interfere with each other.
Why can’t a dishwasher be placed next to an oven?
A dishwasher is a machine that has to deal with water. That is why it is not recommended to put it near the oven, stove and hob - if water gets on this equipment, it can damage it. And the heat coming from the stove and other heating appliances can damage the electronics and rubber seals in the dishwasher (PMM).
The proximity of the PMM with the oven is mutually disadvantageous - both devices can be seriously damaged due to their proximity.
Rules for installation from the manufacturer
Manufacturers Requirements:
- There should be a gap between the dishwasher and other surfaces - do not place the appliance close to other objects.
- The minimum technological gap is 40 cm.
- The built-in dishwasher must not be placed in the headset drawer.
- Do not install the PMM under the sink.
- It is forbidden to set the hob - even if it is with a heat-insulating substrate, above the dishwasher. Moreover, it is not recommended to place the dishwasher under or near the appliance that emits heat.
The last rule directly answers the question posed. Do not place the PMM and the oven closer than 40 cm from each other. This norm was established by German manufacturers, who calculated it taking into account all factors.
If the consumer violates the technological clearance standards, then you can not count on warranty service - the craftsmen will be denied free repair in case of breakage.
Manufacturers also recommend fixing the dishwasher on both sides. For this, for example, you can use adjacent boxes headset.
In a small kitchen, somewhere in Khrushchev, it is very difficult to comply with manufacturers' standards regarding the installation of household appliances. If the kitchen is cramped, not allowing you to comply with the rules, there are two options:
- Refuse to install PMM.
- Break the rules by placing the dishwasher and stove closer than the manufacturer has set.
In addition to the loss of warranty, the close location of the PMM and the oven threatens serious damage - their risk increases by 1.5 times.
Dishwasher in a pencil case with an oven
There are 2 options for embedding PMM in a pencil case:
- Vertically integrated. Installation is carried out in a conventional pencil case. At the bottom is a dishwasher, at the top is an oven (or any other household appliances). This method of placement of equipment saves 50–90 cm of space.
- Horizontally integrated. A pencil case is placed along the walls in 3-4 sections, in each of which there is one piece of equipment.
The dishwasher is placed in a pencil case under the stove, on the contrary it is impossible to put it - if a leak occurs, then both devices will suffer. The oven will flood with water, and the steam that will rise from it will harm the electronic filling of the PMM.
Alternative from the manufacturer
Despite the operational requirements, many users violate them - because of the cramped space. For owners of small kitchens, manufacturers came up with a way out - they created a 2-in-1 device in which the PMM and the oven are combined into one. The first is below, the second is above. There is also an apparatus in which a whole trio is assembled - in addition to the two devices in question, there is also a hob - gas or electric. Such options are offered by the Candy brand. For example, there are Kandy Duo and Kandy Trio.
Consumer Reviews
Users in many forums are actively discussing the issue of the proximity of the PMM with the oven. Most respondents claim that the placement of built-in appliances in the neighborhood is completely safe. Thanks to the partition of the pencil case, the equipment is protected from troubles.
Expert commentary. When turned on at the same time, the stove can cause a short circuit in the electronic unit of the dishwasher.
Users who have built-in appliances next door are not advised to turn it on at the same time. Others claim that the simultaneous inclusion depends on the wiring and the power supplied to the house. Each device must have a separate electrical wire to the shield and a separate fuse.
It is undesirable to place the dishwasher near the oven, above and below it. If you have to allow close proximity, it is necessary to ensure maximum thermal insulation of devices and maintain a minimum technical clearance.
