Are you going to install the equipment under the countertop, but the height of the case does not allow? This happens if the device is built into an unprepared headset. In this case, you can remove the top cover of the dishwasher. How to do it right at home, read below.
How to choose the right installation location
If you want to save space and build a dishwashing machine under the countertop, measure the height of the PMM and the distance from the floor to the countertop.
It happens that the height of the dishwasher is equal to the kitchen work surface. Then the only way out is to remove the upper part of the dishwasher. Then the case will become 2-3 cm lower, and you can fit it in the intended place.
Unfortunately, not all free-standing models are removed the upper part. Embedded PMM does not need this, they are already available without panels. Therefore, carefully consider the choice of equipment.
If you have not yet made a choice, it is better to buy an embedded model. You can remove the top from a freestanding dishwasher, but then you will have to isolate the internal parts that may suffer from moisture.
Is the countertop too low? Try adjusting or increasing the headset legs.
Can the dishwasher cover be removed
Is the panel removable in Bosch, Siemens, Whirlpool dishwashers, how to do it? In most cases, the fasteners are located at the rear wall. If you needed to repair the model, then you need to turn off all communications and deploy it on the reverse side.
- Unplug the dishwasher.
- Close the inlet valve.
- Disconnect the inlet hose from the appliance.
- Unclench a collar and disconnect a drain hose from a siphon (sewerage).
Turn the appliance back wall towards you. In Bosch, Siemens, Whirlpool the panel is fastened with latches, which are located in the upper part of the body. Press them with both hands. If you cannot press hard, use a screwdriver, but do not damage the plastic parts.
Go around the PMM and stand at the hopper door. Pull the cover towards you and remove.
Indesit and Hotpoint Ariston dishwashers received bolt fasteners that need to be unscrewed.
- Go to the back of the dishwasher.
- On top are two bolts.
- Unscrew them with a screwdriver.
- Pull the panel towards you.
The work is over. It remains to install the equipment in a niche under the countertop.
Keep in mind: if the manufacturer provides for dismantling during installation, then everything is in order. Otherwise, this will void the warranty.
For how long a dishwasher warranty lasts, read the previous publication.
In Veko machines, the disassembly process is similar to the Indesit option. There can also be only two screws. But there are models where you first need to remove the back.
- Arm yourself with a Phillips screwdriver.
- Loosen the five screws around the perimeter.
- Remove the shutter.
- Now unscrew the two bolts from above.
- Pull the cover towards you.
That's all. The disassembly principle is similar for all PMM brands. We recommend that you carefully read the instructions for use of household appliances before starting dismantling, so that you do not lose your warranty by mistake.
Cover the exposed part with insulating material to avoid electric shock and moisture.
If there are no fasteners or bolts at the rear wall, then the cover will not be removed. Therefore, before buying, consider installation options. There is no place to place the car separately? Then choose a model that fits into a designated niche.
A good example will help you perform the dismantling faster:
